Celtic: He reveals the names of the players who went to London to party and left without paying!

A former Celtic player, Carlton Cole, has shared a wild tale from his time at the club during the 15/16 season. Despite being plagued by injuries and only playing five times for the team, Cole left a lasting impression off the field with an expensive night out in London.

The players had split into two groups, each partying at different nightclubs. Cole, alongside Kieran Tierney and others, decided to leave their dull venue to join Scott Brown and company at another club. In doing so, they failed to close their tab or inform anyone of their departure.

The next day’s headlines were not kind as it was reported that Celtic players had left without paying their bill. Unbeknownst to them, other patrons took advantage of the open tab, racking up charges while the players partied elsewhere.

Cole later discovered that because they hadn’t settled their bill or informed staff about leaving, people assumed they could order on the player’s account. This led to a hefty charge which Cole ended up footing himself.

In retrospect, Cole admits that letting a group of Celtic footballers loose in London may have been a mistake. The incident resulted in him having to pay not just for one but two tables’ worth of drinks – truly “a double whammy.”
