Shockwaves hit Premier League as Michael Olise release clause bombshell rocks top clubs

Premier League teams hoping to lure Michael Olise next summer have hit a significant obstacle. Contrary to popular belief, Olise’s contract with Bayern Munich contains no release clause, as confirmed by Bayern’s director of sport, Max Eberl. This means any club wishing to sign him will need to negotiate directly with the German side, likely paying a hefty premium.

Eberl clarified the situation: “The contract is valid until June 2029, no release clause is included and Olise is on his way to becoming one of the world’s best players.” Bayern secured Olise’s services from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 for £50 million, overcoming competition from several elite clubs. The French international chose Bayern, a decision that has already paid dividends.

Olise’s impact was immediate. He played a pivotal role in Bayern reclaiming the Bundesliga title, quickly forging an effective partnership with Harry Kane. Together, the pair have contributed 15 goals, and Vincent Kompany’s squad has dominated the league, brushing aside most opponents with ease.

Given Olise’s rapid progress, rumors of a Premier League return have surfaced. However, considering the significant investment Bayern made, any transfer would likely require a far greater sum than the original fee. The winger’s growth has been evident since his days at Crystal Palace, where his ability to cut inside and deliver dangerous crosses was already making headlines.

Now at Bayern, Olise has elevated his game further. The London-born Frenchman boasts 26 goals and 29 assists in just 66 appearances for the club. This season alone, he has delivered six goals and six assists in 11 matches, helping Bayern maintain a perfect record. His consistent performances are pushing him into the conversation as one of the world’s best right wingers.

Olise’s teammates and coaches have not been shy about praising his abilities and work ethic. Serge Gnabry recently said: “He has enormous potential and is one of the best players in the world right now. I don’t know where his limit is! Michael can achieve anything. He can play centrally, keep the ball, and is a good one-on-one player. I didn’t know him that well and didn’t expect it to be like this. Maybe it doesn’t seem that way sometimes, given the way he presents himself, but he has a very good mindset. Michael works hard, he’s a very good boy, very determined. That’s why I think he still has a lot of potential.”

Bayern’s manager has also expressed high hopes for Olise’s future: “I certainly expect him to get even better. I’ve seen the development of talents like him many times. The most important thing is what they do in training every day. I see total calmness in Michael. He comes up to us because he wants to get even better. He’s now won things for the first time, but he has to keep going. I hope he can make further progress and that the Bayern fans will get joy from him for a long time.”

Vincent Kompany is in no rush to part ways with his star winger. “We generally don’t talk about contract details. Our aim is that Michael will stay at FC Bayern for a long time. He’s an exceptional talent.” With the absence of a release clause and the club’s commitment to his development, Olise looks set to remain a Bayern player for the foreseeable future.
